Your centre of Personal Power lies in the Manipur Chakra

Posted on Posted in Spiritual

How many times have you given away your power to others in order to maintain peace in relationships? There are mothers who become powerless over rowdy children. Employers feel powerless seeing revolting employees. Wives may feel powerless when they see their husband straying and citizens feel powerless when faced with a corrupt administration. So how can you cultivate power? To do this, let us explore Power and what it means.

What is Your Power?

Know that your power lies in what you give and what you contribute to the world. This can become your power over the world. So a mother’s power lies in what she does for her family. The power of an apple tree lies in the apples it produces. The cow’s power lies in the milk she gives. A singer’s power lies in the songs she has sung. A manager’s power lies in his skills and how he chooses to use them.

Power has some traits:

It makes you independent.

In power, you honour your own opinions but you also honour the opinions of others and don’t get affected by them.

You have the power to confront others, the power to stand apart as different and most importantly, the power to say “no”.

You are dependable and responsible for the things you do.

You are disciplined.

How to develop Power

Know that power cannot be cultivated. Power is innate in everyone but it has to be realised. The more you connect with yourself, the more you will connect to the source of your power.

Realise that every person is born with a unique talent and trait. You are the only one who has it and when realise and develop it, you will be like honey attracting the bees. Power tends to make you internalised and therefore, it won’ work if there is co-dependency. Know that you will lose power if you allow others to depend on you or you become dependent on someone.

Things You Need to Give Up for Success

Posted on Posted in Spiritual

Looking for success? Here is a simple mantra. To be successful in life, stop chasing the wrong things. And give up these limiting practices below.

  1. Give up trying to be perfect – If you think you will wait until you achieve perfection, you will miss many opportunities. You need to act, rather than hanging back due to fear of failure. So get up and get things done.
  2. Give up dwelling on the past or worrying about the future – Live in the Now because this is the only moment that is real and present. Now is your life, happening right here. Don’t miss it.
  3. Give up complaining – instead of cribbing about things, try to take action and change things. It will empower you.
  4. Give up waiting – Don’t wait for things to happen before doing something. There should be no dependency on external circumstances to be conducive. Start acting now.
  5. Give up saying, I can’t. As Henry Ford put it, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right.” You write your own destiny and you pass judgement on yourself.
  6. Give up thinking that you are not ready – It is a fact that nobody feels 100 per cent ready when an opportunity arises. Every great opportunity in life will force you to grow outside of your comfort zone. So don’t wait until you’re completely in your comfort zone.
  7. Give up trying to do things by yourself – Instead of trying to manage everything on your own, you must delegate things to the right people. Know that you are supported and there will be people to help you.
  8. Give up blaming others for your troubles – In blaming others for your circumstances, you are giving them power over that part of your life. The more you take responsibility for your life, the more empowered you become.
  9. Give up trying to live up to the expectations of others – Matching up to the expectations of others will give you stress and make you lose your natural intelligence. You must do things because you love to do them and drive yourself with passion, not to please others.
  10. Give up making promises that you can’t keep – Do not over-promise. Say what you feel is right, and honor your word once you have committed.
  11. Give up waiting until the last minute – Doing things at the eleventh hour puts you under a lot of stress and you will now have time to do things properly. So never let the last minute urgency breathe down on you.
  12. Give up trying to control everything – When you control situations and people, you end up discontented. Moreover, the people around you will lose their natural will to work for you. So release all control and let the natural intelligence run things.

How to Deal with Stress

Posted on Posted in Spiritual

Stress is the way your body and mind reacts to a demanding situation. Stress usually comes from experiences you have labelled as “unpleasant” or “bad”.  You must remember that stress is not your natural state. Fears and worries do not sit well with the laws of life. They go against your real nature – this is why they are causing mental and physical discomfort.

When stress resides in a particular part of the body, it indicates the kind of negative thoughts you have been having. This particular body part will then develop aches and pains and draw your attention.

Identify your stress

Sit in a quiet place and analyse the cause of your stress. What is bothering you? Every stress is rooted in a fear that causes a blockage in the body’s Chakras, or energy centres. If not addressed early on, these fears will manifest as physical and mental issues affecting that particular Chakra in the body.

  1. If your stress is related to money and worries about lack of support, this is an imbalance of the Root chakra. It will also affect your legs, with pain in the feet and bones.
  2. The Stress relating to disharmony in relationships is related to Sacral Chakra imbalance This fear may affect your intestines, kidney and lower back.
  3. The Stress of feeling powerless is due to an imbalance of the Manipur Chakra. It will manifest as problems in the stomach, liver and digestion.
  4. If you feel grief, hurt or mistrust in people, then your Heart Chakra is out of balance. It will impact your heart and circulatory system.
  5. Are you suffering from Stress of not being able to express yourself? Your Vishuddha Chakra may be out of balance. It may manifest as problems of the ears, throat and thyroid glands.
  6. If you are Stressed about a situation which you just cannot accept, then the Ajna Chakra is out of balance. This may manifest as pain in the forehead, eyes and migraines.
  7. If you suffer from the Stress of considering yourself “unlucky” and “forsaken by God”, then your Sahasrara Chakra has become blocked. It may manifest as issues of the brain, with pain in the temples and sides of head.

Replace Negative with Positive

Whatever your fear is, you need to release it. Accept and surrender at the feet of the Divine and let it go. You need to expel the lower emotions of stress and fear and develop the higher emotions of faith, trust, forgiveness, acceptance, confidence, self-worth and love.

Life is giving you situations so that you can evolve to your higher self. Until you align yourself to life’s lessons, you will not be able to change any situation the way you want. Know that you have come on earth to learn the laws of life, so that you may become Divine and transform yourself into a Perfect being.

Why don’t things ever go the way I expect them to happen?

Posted on Posted in Spiritual

Everyone knows that hard work pays in the end. But most people become morose when results don’t show up in their life immediately. When things don’t meet your expectations and the world responds negatively to your efforts, you become impatient. The common refrain is: Why don’t things ever go the way I expect them to happen?

Timing is everything

If you have gone through this experience, you must realise a few things about Life. Have you observed how nature works? Seeds that have been lying dormant for months and years do finally germinate under the right conditions of rain, moisture and heat. The way nature sprouts a seed is a lesson for all of us. There is a right time and right place for everything to come together. Similarly, the right conditions have to come together in your life to take you to the next level.

Qualify yourself for success

Seeds that become trees will give fruit when the time is right. Your actions too, will bear fruit when your karma is ripe. If there is something you want very badly and it hasn’t materialised all this while, it means that life is waiting for some qualification to be met. You need to be qualified for success, or you must release some limiting belief that is holding you back.

Release all fear

You must overcome this limiting belief: “I never get what I desire” or that “I have to struggle hard for success.” There may be an external situation that has to be magnified to propel you to action. For instance, if want to settle abroad and have been trying for it but you’re not able to, then there are factors that are holding you back. It could be that you need to overcome your fears of being alone by yourself, away from family.

Be aligned to Life

Or maybe life is waiting for certain conditions to be met in the external world. It could be that your ailing parent has to be attended first, or maybe the government of that country is changing its immigration laws. There could be something that needs to be taken care of within your family. Whatever it is, know that until that point is reached, what you wish for won’t materialize. Attune yourself to the lessons of life and they will take you to your desired destination at the right time.

Why You must Welcome Adversity

Posted on Posted in Spiritual

How many of you complain when you are getting success and positive outcomes in life? And what happens when you are faced with a situation that you consider “difficult” or “unpleasant”?

following story will explain my point. One day, a construction manager standing on the 6th floor of a building wanted to speak to a worker who was busy on a ground floor. The manager leaned forward on the railing and called out to the worker. Since the building site was noisy, the worker on the ground floor did not hear his manager calling.

So to draw the worker’s attention, the manager dropped a 10 rupee note from his pocket. It fluttered down in the breeze and fell in front of the place the worker was busy working. What did the worker do? He spotted the 10 rupee note, picked it up, put it in his pocket and continued his work. To draw the worker’s attention again, his manager now threw a 500 rupee note. The worker did the same thing this time, picking up the 500 rupee note, putting it in his pocket and resuming his duties.

Now the manager really wanted the worker’s attention and he picked up a small stone and aimed it at the worker and tossed it. The stone hit the worker precisely on his head. This time the worker did look up and the manager was able to communicate with him.

What problems really mean

The story is same as in your life. Until the time you keep receiving gifts and blessings, you do not notice the Giver, nor do you attempt to change anything in your life.

The Lord wants to communicate with you, but you are too busy with your worldly roles. When the Lord sends you small gifts, hoping you will notice Him. But what do you do? You just keep the gift, not noticing where it came from and who the provider was, leave alone thanking Him. If you are feeling very grateful, some of you may say you have been Lucky!

Then, when the Lord hits you with a small stone, which you call a ‘problem’, then you look up and take notice, and attempt to communicate with Him.

Adversity comes with a Purpose

Know that no transformation or creation can happen without pain. Therefore every challenge that comes to you represents the next stage of your growth and unfoldment. Remember, if Life didn’t throw problems at you, you would never change yourself or your circumstances.

When you are faced with obstacles, it is the time to look up, analyse the situation and bring about a transformation in the way you do things. Adversity is the cause of all change; it is given to you so that you don’t remain in a rut all your life.

So when your life is hit by adversity, instead of blaming your problems on planets or bad luck, you must welcome the situation you are facing and accept it. In doing so, not only do you take the first steps in solving the issue, but you honour Life and contribute to your growth as a human being of Divine potential.

Why I always feel that the time is too short for everything?

Posted on Posted in Spiritual

Most people I see in their late 20’s and above are running with impatience and anxiety as they fear that they are late for success, marriage, children or there is not enough time for accomplishing their goals and targets.

Where one tries to run ahead of the natural time, he loses the present moment and all the opportunities it has to offer. And in the process, they end up with wrong decisions and distractions from their path.

One needs ask himself why does he wish to run toward a goal?  Is it for his happiness or the happiness he will achieve by fulfilling the expectation of his near and dear ones around him? He needs to then introspect that will achieving his goal actually make him happy forever or there would be another goal in front of him and he would start running for the same again? Life has to be understood as a journey that ultimately makes you realize yourself.

The fear that ‘I am late’ is the biggest illusion. You are a part of nature that guides you every moment.  Not a fly flaps its wings or breeze flows, without the presence and guidance of nature.  At every step right from birth till now, your body evolved with perfect timing, people and situations were sent to you to evolve at the right time, your education and career was planned, your spouse and children are also part of the divine plan. . Whatever is there in your life is happening perfectly and is neither late nor early.

Stop looking at others as that will cause you unnecessary anxiety because of your individual perceptions and definitions.  Trust that everything is happening at the right time and focus on today and know that it is complete.

The Upanishads says:

ॐ पूर्णम अदः पूर्णम इदं  पूर्णात पूर्णम उदच्यते

पूर्णस्य पूर्णम आदाय  पूर्ण एव अवशिष्यते

Supreme Purusha is perfect and complete, and because He is completely perfect, all emanations from Him, such as this phenomenal world, are perfectly equipped as complete wholes. Whatever is produced of the Complete Whole is also complete in itself. Anything emanating from Him or merging Him does not change his completeness.
